Jan 2, 2007
By the way Happy 2007! I forgot to say that yesterday. Well S didn't come off the vent today. He was still too sedated to breath on his own so they cut his sedation way back and tomorrow morning at 6 am they will start the process. I will tell you that I had my first break down today. Sorry Mom and Dad.. I was just over tired, and hormonal. I didn't get any sleep last night and then for them to start trying to ween him and stop.. well it just pushed me over the edge. I took a nap and felt better when I woke up and my little boy had his eyes wide open and he was moving around. They would have pulled his tube then if they hadn't started him back on his feedings, but they want him to have an empty stomach so that he wontaspirate . Please continue to pray because there is always the possibility that when they pull the tube he still wont be strong enough and they will have to put it back in. Thank you all for your prayers and continued support. We love you all! Praise the Lord for Brothers and sisters in Christ!

I cannot tell you how many times I logged on today to read about baby S! Being on the vent allows him time to get as strong as he needs to be. God is in charge, remember. :)
Love to you,
Emily
I hope things go well today and they can remove the Vent. Praying and thinking about you and your family. I know how you feel, Jacob had RSV and was in the hospital for one week with it. Take care and try to get some rest.

Shawn and I are diligently praying for you, Sam, and all the doctors. I want to visit but the kids have touches of colds and I don't dare bring them anywhere near; but please know that our thoughts and prayers are with you. Not many people know what it is like to hold your child in your arms while they are not breathing. I know how terrifying that must have been for you. I'm so glad you're finally able to hold him. We're so glad to hear that he is getting better and we can't wait to see you all home.
All our love,
Karen, Shawn, Leah, and Riley
I am keeping you and your family in my thoughts and prayers. I am so sorry to hear of this difficul time. Please know that your friends and family are hurting with you, and I will pray for S to have a speedy recovery. Remember to take care of yourself as well, so that you are healthy and rested when S comes home.
