You will be missed Maggie...
Today we had to say goodbye to our loyal friend, and 1st baby. We picked Maggie, our border collie, out of the back of a breeder's truck in the parking lot at the Norway Vets. 3 weeks later we were approved to go get her from the farm where her parents "worked." DH and I were so excited! Our house felt like a home and we were on the path to starting our little family. We had read a lot about border collies and had been warned about how much work they required. Maggie had been deemed that she wouldn't be a good work dog but instead a better family pet, but that didn't mean she wasn't still going to need all of that love and attention. We then got a cat named Jonas that she would herd all the time. He didn't mind though! He actually loved it. A couple years later when we had D she became to protector... she had a new role and she became very serious about this. She was very worried about all the people holding D. She would lay by his crib while he slept. She became to the same with all of the boys. She loved it when they got old enough to take her outside and play ball, or Frisbee. She never missed! I am thankful for all of the great memories we have with her, taking her camping, chasing her down the street... and watching her lay in the field and make sure the boys stayed where they were suppose to be. She was always there to sleep by my side on those days when DH had to be away. I didn't mind staying by myself because I always knew that Maggie was there protecting me (and God of course). Thank you for all the great years we had together.....
