February Vacation
This is what I woke up to Monday morning of vacation. I had told them to sleep in.. but of course they didn't! Monday we just laid low at home..
Tuesday I planned a trip to Dover to the NH Children's Museum and we were greeted by the local police. They were so nice and gave the kids all fake badges. I loved seeing horses still being used!
The boys had an awesome time! This was a submarine! It had screens inside that made it look like you were under water. They made some new friends and played for a long time here.
S LOVES dinosaurs. He tells us all the time that he's going to be a paleontologist (I can't even spell it!) So this exhibit was awesome! You could "dig" out the fossils and look at them under the microscope. Measure the bones. S didn't want to leave!
Next was the Music room, which of course they all loved. That tube thing was awesome! if you hit it with a flip flop it made cool noises.
Even EM loved it! She thought the triangle was pretty cool!
There was a ship that you could steer
Gears to move around and make them connect
This wall was my favorite. When you hit the panels they made different tones.. I admit I played on this one for a while:)
Ok whoever thought of this was very clever.. it's hard to take pictures of it but it was amazing! I'm not sure what these things are called but you know the thing you put your hand in and it makes the shape.. well this is a human sized one! D loved putting his whole body on it and made funny actions!
This was the flying exhibit. You made different creations to try and fly.
EM loved "yelling" cause there were kids running away all over the place it was great entertainment!
D & E did the great plate challenge. You created something out of paper plates that would fly.
Hanging out with Dad.
This was a game that you controled the ball by your mind. The more relaxed you were the more apt to win.. of course DH was WAY more relaxed than all of the rest of us.
We had to go back to the music exhibit one last time! (notice the "drummer" face!)
This was a green screen. D the director LOVED this! He would have spent hours there if we would have let him. creating a movie.. makes me wish I could figure out how to make something like this for him!
What better way to end the day of family fun than at Five Guys! If you have never been to one you need to go! The burgers are amazing! (I guess if you don't like burgers you wouldn't want to go:)
I loved being able to take a day for just us. Nothing else, no phone calls, or anything! What a blessing!
Wednesday it snowed A LOT and then Thursday I was able to reunite with a childhood friend I haven't seen in 16 years! She has 3 boys and our guys all played so well together! I didn't take any pictures cause we were too busy catching up! I'll try to find some old pictures of the two of us. That afternoon the kids and I drove to Maine so the boys could spend a few days with my parents. EM and I stayed over night then drove back to NH for a Pastor's wives LEAD retreat. It was a wonderful time with some great ladies. The boys had a blast going to pick Boppa up at the airport and playing LEGO's and playing out in the snow. All in all I think it was a great vacation that flew by!
