The Sandwich Fair & Candy Apples!
On Columbus Day we headed over to the local fair for the day! When we go there this man was starting to carve this chunk of wood. We watched for a while then realized it was going to be a long project and decided to check back in to see what it was when before we left...
DH being his normal silly self!
This was a huge bull!
S & D decided to ride horses. They loved it! A didn't want too... he was a little afraid of them! So instead he took pictures of his brothers on the horses..
The boys have been working hard at their chores around the house and having "wins" at bed time. Since moving to this new house all of the boys are in one room, well A & S were getting in trouble every night for not going to bed but instead laying there talking for an hour or so and then being exhausted in the morning! So DH came up with this brilliant plan of "wins" vs "loss'" A "win" is that neither Dad or Mom have to talk to them after we say prayers and turn out the lights, "Loss" being they got spoken to. The boys set a goal of 4 wins out of 7 nights, well it worked and not only did the meet their goal they surpassed it! They had 7 "wins!" So to reward them for working so hard on their chores and their "Wins" we let them each chose one ride (a $3 value) We were lucky enough to meet up with our good friends who's children had also earned one ride a piece. Each boy paired off with one of their boys and they chose a ride. A & L choose the Cliff Hanger..
A started to chicken out in line but I convinced him to do it! He loved it!
D & E choose some thing I can't remember the name of...
It went forwards and backwards really fast..
L & A waiting for D & E to get off their ride..
D's reaction to his ride! He loved it but was trying to be a little dramatic!
S & O went on this ride.. I think they thought it was going to do more.. I think they were yawning during this ride:)
By the time we got ready to leave this is what it looked like....
I'm glad we went over in the morning when it was less crowded. And here is the end result of the carving! Amazing huh?
That night we went home and made a special treat....
These
Plus these...
Makes for some yummy treats! D doesn't like apples so he asked if he could make his with a banana.. I said sure!
EM watched us and laughed at us!
Look at the difference in these apples. J&M brought over the first apples that they picked at a local orchard and the other ones are ones I had bought at the grocery store! I can't believe the difference in size! They fiull you right up!
Here's what we got.. not as pretty as the ones at the fair, but they tasted just as good!
I love making memories with my family!
